Triboro RX

The Triboro RX was mentioned a few months ago in a discussion by the MTA. However, it's mostly speculation, as opposed to being a real consideration. What do you guys think of it, and of its chances of ever becoming reality?

It wouldn't go into Manhattan, but it give people in unserviced areas some way to go to Manhattan indirectly.
